I still like that design. :3

What should I say? My trademark with him? EVERYTHING.

Now really, there are some key things I will always do even if I make him look like his original self.
Main one, his scowl. I draw his mouth in a very peculiar way. I give him a more realistic human body and the spikes of his mustache, though I was experimenting a bit here with it.

When I look at this version of Robotnik, I see a real Villian. Now he is just called 'Eggman' and his character design doesn't look villainous at all, quite the opposite, more clownish than villianous. Just by looking at the new design of Robotnik (Eggman) and seeing how he plays out in the new games, he seems more about narcissism than real ambition where he'll just do evil things just to get people's attention than do something that you least suspect him to for a villian.

I want Robotnik again, not Eggman. I think your desgin is a close enough update to what Robotnik would be now; it captures what a real Villian is, to conquer, to rule, to destory. I hope to see more Designs of Robotnik from you in the future, and I hope they'll be just as good as this.

I am currently trying to create my own update of Robotnik, to bring a new look, but make him sinister and filled with ambition. The idea is study as many good Robotnik art pics as possible and get idea of how I will plan it out with a good friend of mine.

The idea of what brings robotnik out, to me, personally, is the face and his general design of character. The new Robotnik-Eggman he is called-lacks what is needed in beinging a real Villian, such as agenda, a goal, which he strives towards by any means he can. Eggman may have the idea of taking over the world but the way he does it is just silly and too down right clumsy, which makes him more of a clown than a Villain, in more ways than one. The basis of a villian is how they present themselves. With Eggman he is presented as being one moment a villian, then next, a good guy, almost like the character himself doesn't know what he should do. Kinda silly, do you agree? Simply put, in my own way, that Eggman just lacks the certain character mind set of a villian to be a villian.

Now, I like your Robotnik designs a lot. The designs are what I can say in being "what Sonic should've been today, instead of how it is now." I mean, I liked Sonic back when it was taking place in Mobius, where so much could happen, and the idea you'd wanted so much to imagine what the future would bring to it if they would keep on using that theme. Just call it inspirition.

My only wish is to see a return of that part of the series, in the mere future or even sooner by somebody who is willing bring it again; Newer and updated with a new twist and story for idea to experience. I pray for that. Really! I do.

I hope that my design of Robotnik will be new and bring out his character even more. Maybe making a version of the character worth a reboot... (Jk) lol. But I do plan on trying to write and create my own, well, sort of, fan-based version of Sonic and using the version with Mobius and the lore so that people will see something new and something they remember back in the old day.

I like this one as well. All your art pieces of Robotnik are great. Its how I would see him being. Even though that sketch isn't finish, I like it all the same.

And you are right. I can see where you were going with this design idea; he does indeed look dark and evil, more than the other versions you have done of him so far. Even so, all your designs of Robotnik, I might say, are some of the best on DA. They are evil. They are dark. But the greatest thing I can say about your designs, is that they have a story to them just by looking at them. That is unique, I might add. When you do art in way a good many people, ones who think hard and long, with inspiration and imagination, will see that their could be some story that goes with them because of what they see in the character itself.

That's just my belief, simply. Sorry if it might seem...not your kinda of idea for art.

Your beliefs are correct. Julian Robotnik to me is much more than just a character I'm a fan of. I feel a lot deeper about him. I don't know if it's because it was the first childhood character I loved so much or if there's something about him I can relate to but he IS part of my life. That's why I call myself The Robotnik Freak, because it could be an unhealthy obsession but still, he makes me happy and I'll forever support and defend his character as the best version there ever was.
My dream had always been, that perhaps in some future, I could have something to do with his remake/resurrection in the fandom. Or at least portray him in a way that he's respected by most Sonic fans, no matter what Sonic Universe they prefer.

I'm glad someone else knows and understand this the way I do too.

So am I. Glad there are others who share the same view as me and can relate to what brings them happiness in life. ^^

I wish very much so in the resurrection of the series that was rich with ideas and lore, plus its villians, especially Robotnik, the most inspiring of them all. Sonic, too, is another big part of it as well, mustn't ever forget about him along with all the rest of the characters that made the Mobius part of the series wonderful.

If I were to took responbility in remaking the series, I would try to go back and get as much the series back into my head as possible to give it massive update. This means bringing back old characters and making new ones up, so and so, you might say, in trying to make the series new but at the same time regonizable by its fans. The story too would need a great change from Archie's original that they did back in the day...But I think the idea is to make your own story but try to borrow elements from the original one done before yours. So I think. No too sure about that, to be certain.

I am positive if only a person were to take the time and try their best remake the series, then it could be done. But the only problem is doing it right and making something that brings back the feeling that the original had and at the same time making it inspirational.

What took you so long to pump out another Robotnik drawing?

Just kidding.

While I am not fond of SatAM Robotnik in general, there is something that does draw me back to him.

Perhaps it is the primal fear he instills in everybody, one borne of not being a lovable villain, but of a downright murderous sociopath that draws a close parallel to our own real-life villains.

Ahh, Robotnik, he looked so much more menacing when he was actually called that. Lately he just seems like a fat old dude.

Still a good villain, but "Eggman" doesn't sound so... Dastardly.

Well, the original "Eggman" as always been called that in Japan, it was American that dubbed his name to Robotnik which sounds so much cooler but it actually means 'worker' in some other language I forgot.

But it definitively more serious sounding than Eggman.
But because SEGA wants everything Sonic to be like THEY made it they came and changed the name back to Eggman, but I will still refer to the american version Robotnik and the games one Eggman. Plus he's goofy enough to be called that.
